Summer Camps

Click here to download the Lakehill Summer Camps 2010 Guide.

Lakehill offers a variety of teacher-guided camps each summer. Full day camps are offered for $275 per week and half day camps are available for $200 per week. FREE before-camp and after-camp care is provided.

Camps are offered in eight one-week sessions, beginning June 7 and ending July 30. From sports to science to stop-motion animation, Lakehill Summer Camps truly offer something for everyone! We look forward to welcoming you to our campus this summer.

Summer Camps at the Main Campus
Drop-off and pick-up locations—Main Campus
The drop-off and pick-up location for all camps at the Main Campus will be the Lakehill playground.  In the event of inclement weather, students should be dropped off at the auditorium entrance (the Commons Room) during the first week of camps (June 7-11), and the Main Entrance for all weeks thereafter.

Before-care and After-care—Main Campus
Morning Session Camps run from 9 am to noon daily.  Afternoon Session Camps run from 1 pm to 4 pm daily.  Complimentary Before-care is offered at the Main Campus from 8 am to 9 am, and complimentary After-care is offered at the Main Campus from 4 pm to 6 pm. For your convenience, Before- and After-care will be offered at the same locations as drop-off and pick-up.

Dress Code—Main Campus
Though the dress code will be relaxed for Lakehill Summer Camps, we ask that parents help their children choose clothing that is modest and appropriate for a school atmosphere. Jeans, shorts, and t-shirts are allowed. Please ensure that your child is wearing recess-appropriate shoes in order to participate in outdoor breaks and activities. Please see the Summer Camps at the ESC section below for more details on dress code at the ESC.

What Else to Bring—Main Campus
Students are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle to Lakehill Summer Camps.  Sunblock applied before coming to camp and/or hats to wear when outside are also recommended.

Lunch—Main Campus
Lunch will be held in the Commons Room during the first week of camp (June 7-11), and will be held in the cafeteria during all weeks thereafter.

Summer Camps at the ESC
ESC hours
For the safety of all students, there will be no students allowed on the ESC before 8:45 or after 4:10.  Any students in our care at those times will be at the Main Campus.

Before-care and After-care—ESC
Before-care and After-care are not offered at the ESC.  Students participating in our complimentary Before-Care and After-care must be dropped off at and picked up from the Main Campus, and will be bussed to and from the ESC.  See the bus schedule and other details below .

ESC Bus Schedule (These are the only times students will be transported between campuses)

Related details and clarifications—Morning Session Camps
Students enrolled in a Morning Session camp at the ESC (see camp schedules below) are still eligible for Before-care, but must be dropped off at the Main Campus before 8:45 am.  At 8:45 am, the bus will shuttle ESC campers from the Main Campus to the ESC.

  • Students enrolled in a Morning Session camp at the ESC must be dropped off at the ESC if arriving after the 8:45am shuttle time.
  • Only students enrolled in an Afternoon Session camp at the ESC will be permitted to stay at the ESC after the Morning Session.  All other students not picked up by 12:10 pm will be shuttled back to the Main Campus for lunch, pick-up, or an Afternoon Session camp there.

Related details and clarifications—Afternoon Session Camps

  • Students enrolled in an Afternoon Session Camp at the ESC who are not enrolled in a Morning Session Camp must be dropped off at the ESC no earlier than 12:50 pm.

Drop-off and pick-up locations—ESC
The drop-off and pick-up location for all camps at the ESC will be the building entrance at the top of the winding sidewalk near the stone-circled oak tree.

Dress Code—ESC
Safety is the most important aspect of Summer Camps at the ESC.  Poison ivy, poison oak, biting insects, and venomous snakes are all natural inhabitants of the Lakehill ESC, and students attending camps there will learn how to tread safely in their habitat. All students attending camps at the ESC must follow the following dress code, which will be strictly enforced:

  • Closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times.
  • Full-length pants or jeans (not shorts) must be worn.  Campers’ ankles must be covered.
  • Long-sleeved shirts that can be put on over other clothes are also recommended for excursions in the woods.
  • Parents of students who are out of dress code will be called to bring the appropriate clothing or to pick up their child.
  • Campers in FUNdamentals of Tennis and Warrior Youth Baseball are exempt from this dress code during these camps only and should bring a change of clothes if attending another ESC camp in the afternoon.

What Else to Bring—ESC
Students are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle to Lakehill Summer Camps.  Sunblock and insect repellent are highly recommended (and should be applied copiously).  Don’t forget respect for nature and a safe and positive attitude!
