Financial aid is also available to those who qualify. Parents should compile their previous year’s tax forms early in the senior year. This will help the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application process. The FAFSA can be filed after October 1. Please consider filing early, as more money will be available. Many colleges may also require the CSS Profile to award non-federal student aid funds. This form is available on the College Board website beginning October 1.
Please be aware that there are many wonderful resources available. Unfortunately, there are many scholarship scams also. If you receive unsolicited materials, check with your college counselor to verify the authenticity.
